Blaisdell-Emery Trail is a 3.8 mile point-to-point trail from Owens Way to Lewis Run, PA, following the main branch of the Tunungwant Creek.  This trail is on an abandoned railroad grade and has an improved stone surface so walking is easy.

From US Route 219 get off at the Owens Way exit and turn west (left if you are coming from the south). The north trailhead is on the far (west) edge of a level area used for truck parking and construction materials.  The trail is roughly paved at this end.  Park along either side of the trail near the street.

The trail soon becomes well paved and descends to cross under US 219 then ascends to rejoin the old railroad grade.  At this point the trail surface becomes gravel.

Nearing Custer City the derrick of a wooden oil drilling rig, a “standard rig,” becomes visible on the right.  A path to the right leads to a parking lot that is the mid-point trailhead.  The Penn-Brad Oil Museum is here.  Check witht he museum before going to confirm it will be open by calling 814-362-1955.

Main Street, Lewis Run is the southern terminus.  Parking is available.
