Trail Central- The hiking opportunities seem endless in the McKean County and Allegheny National Forest area. Trail Central, a program of the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau, is the place to look for that perfect trail. Whether it’s an afternoon hike, a weekend excursion or that backpacking expedition you have been thinking about you can find it here. And there are brochures, maps, links to other sites and much more.

The Cornplanter Loop is a suggested route for a 38-mile, three-day backpacking trip. The loop passes through the Marilla Watershed Area, the Allegheny National Forest and Allegany State Park, NY.

Tracy Ridge- This is a 33.69-mile trail system of interconnecting loops within the Tracy Ridge Recreation Area. The trails may be reached by driving to the trail head on PA Route 321 or via the Bullis Hollow Trail. Hiking Map

North Country Trail- This trail system when completed will stretch from Crown Point, NY to Lake Sakakawea State Park in North Dakota. The 96 miles of trail that passes through Allegheny National Forest is completed and certified, and serves as a major north-south hiking corridor connecting numerous trails, recreation areas and other attractions for outdoorsmen.
