For a number of years now, several of the bridges along the McDowell Trail have required attention where the paved trail meets the wooden deck of the each bridge.  The asphalt has been removed and replaced a couple of times on five of the bridges due to the settling and movement in the abutment areas.  It was determined that a better remedy would be to stabilize these areas with the forming and pouring of concrete abutments. 

This action was approved by the TVTA Board of Directors with the work being completed within the past month at a cost of $15,000.  The funding for this project is made possible from proceeds from The “We Gotta Regatta” and the Marilla Trail Race that are held each year.  The TVTA greatly appreciates the community support, memberships, and sponsors for our events
