The TVTA is excited to announce the return of our annual “We Gotta Regatta” on Saturday, June 5, 2021.

Since “We Gotta Regatta” was first held in spring of 2012, it has quickly become a popular event for outdoor enthusiasts from Bradford and the surrounding areas. We have continually seen the number of participants increase and always look forward to hosting this great day for the community. In 2020, we were forced to cancel the Regatta due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While we surely missed seeing recurring and new participants for this enjoyable day on the water, it was undoubtedly the right decision. Like many, we have been encouraged by the roll out and administering of the different COVID-19 vaccines.

We will be hosting a modified event this year in order to promote social distancing and prevent transmission of COVID-19. We will not be having our usual after party consisting of food and beverage service or live entertainment. While these are some defining characteristics of the regatta, this is the only way we can host an event while protecting our community. As there will be no after party, we will not be charging any admission fee for this year’s event but will kindly accept donations :). We encourage everyone to enter the West Branch of the Tunungwant Creek on Campus Drive below the concrete spillway and paddle your way to the Historic Crook Farm where we will be offering assistance with transporting boats up to the parking lot. We do plan to have our usual 50/50 and raffle which you can sign up for on our website at: www.tunavalleytrail.com/we-gotta-regatta/

When you arrive at Crook Farm, we ask that everyone wear a mask and social distance to protect yourself and others.

While we would love to be able to host our usual event, we will unfortunately have to wait another year as COVID-19 is still a present danger. Our goals for this year’s event are to give our community a much needed “day to look forward to” and build momentum for next year’s event which we plan to be the best one yet.

Events like the regatta and contributions from donors and members are crucial to our mission of developing and maintaining trails in the area. We hope to see you out on the water on Saturday, June 5.
